Katherine Cashell working in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brunel University.
Dr Cashell is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE), the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) and Engineers Ireland (MIEI). She is engaged in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and research in steel and composite structures. Her principal research interests lie in the area of structural testing, numerical modelling and the development of efficient design guidance for steel and composite structures. In particular, she has developed an expertise in the analysis of structural response during extreme loading conditions, such as a fire. She is also actively engaged in researching the use of novel materials such as stainless steel and high strength steel in building structures.
Dr Cashell is actively involved in the Institution of Civil Engineers and Engineers Ireland. She is the past Chair of the Great Britain region of Engineers Ireland.
Dr. Hossein is working in department of Civil Engineering and Built Environment at Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
His research areas are Concrete and masonry materials and structures, Performance-based design, Fragility and risk evaluation of existing buildings, Earthquake engineering, Seismic retrofit, Continuum and computational mechanics.
Dr. You Dong is working in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The HK PolyU. His main research focuses on the risk, resilience, and sustainability-informed design, assessment, and life-cycle management of civil infrastructures under the effects of structural deterioration, hazards, and climate change to aid the development of next generation of infrastructure systems by using novel materials and structural systems. Recent applications emphasize bridges, buildings, transportation networks, and interdependent infrastructure systems.
Engr. Dr. Qazi Umar Farooq is working in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering. He did his PhD in geotechnical engineering from University of Tokyo, Japan. His areas of interests include Strength and Deformation Characteristics of Geo-materials, Low-Cost Geo-Environmental Systems, Hydraulic Characteristics of Soil and Multiphase fluid Problems, Experimental Modeling, Foundations on soft Clays/loose Sand, Liquefaction and Lifelines.
Engr. Dr. Attaullah Shah is a professional in the fields of Civil Engineering, Construction Management and Sustainable built Environment. His areas of interests include Shear properties of High Strength Concrete, Retrofitting of damaged buildings, Construction and Procurement Management and Design and construction and sustainable buildings.
Currently, he is serving as Vice Chancellor Karakorum International University (KIU), Gilgit. He has been working as Vice Chancellor City University of Science and IT Peshawar from 201-18. Previously he was working as Director ( Projects) at Allama Iqbal Open University for 16 years (www.aiou .edu.pk). He started his career as Junior Structural Engineer at NESPAK and later joined Communication and Works Department KPK for ten years.
As member of CPD program and faculty Dr. Shah actively contributed to the Professional Development of Engineers and delivered lectures and workshops at PEC HQtrs, Peshawar, Quetta, Mirpur, Khuzdar, Lahore etc. He is visiting faculty member of Centre of Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE), SZABIST and NUST besides reource person for PEC CPD courses and HEC. He is the author of about more than 100 publications in the International refereed journals and conferences in the fields of Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Sustainable building design and construction.
Dr. Abbas did his PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources from Michigan State University, USA and Masters in Hydrogeology and Groundwater Management from University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. He graduated in Civil Engineering from NUST.
Dr. Abbas has worked in the water sector in seven countries across three continents. With experience of more than 20 years, he has worked on water management issues relating to water scarcity, water abundance, transboundary conflicts, climate change and environment. Dr. Hassan Abbas has extensive research and industry experience in water resources evaluation, hydrological field investigations, climate change, environmental instrumentation, hydrometery, civil engineering works, GIS applications, groundwater modeling, environmental modeling, data analysis through massive databases, and project management.
He is currently working as Head of Civil Engineering department of Swedish College of Engineeirng and Technology, Wah Cantt, an Affiliated Collge of University of engineering and technology taxila Pakistan.
